Lake Huron beckons from both the dining room and a table for two on the sunporch, or on the deck in season.

The full breakfast at Adventure Inn consists of:

  • an artful and ample fresh fruit course with homemade granola
  • a hot entree
  • fresh, home-baked scones or muffins with egg-type entrees
  • your choice of several juices
  • endless locally roasted coffee (decaf or regular) plus a selection of teas

What gets you going in the morning? Breakfast here might be anywhere on the spectrum from Admirably Sensible to Delightfully Decadent. What do you prefer?

Dietary restrictions and preferences? We’ll accommodate them if you communicate when booking or before arrival.

Breakfast for two

You choose breakfast time and place

We describe breakfast at Adventure Inn as ordinary breakfast tastes prepared and served in a way that most people do not take time to do for themselves at home.

Breakfast time is anywhere between 8 and 9:45 a.m. We try to find a time agreeable to both couples. Amazing and wonderful coincidences are discovered around our breakfast table.

However, breakfast for two or in-room dining can be arranged.

Captain Adventure typically gets to the kitchen about two hours before breakfast time and prepares your meal from scratch.

Freshly ground, hot coffee or tea will be waiting for you.

When you book a stay, we ask you to tell us your preferences for breakfast at Adventure Inn — especially things you must have, can’t have, won’t eat or don’t eat. We plan the menu around whatever you tell us. Or, let us surprise you.

We plan breakfast at Adventure Inn around two questions:

  • Have the guests expressed any preferences?
  • What’s in season at the market?

I treat the fruit course as an opportunity to create art on a plate or in a dish. Tree-ripened peaches are a favorite.

A clafoutis is a great way to show off Michigan cherries.

The dish using local potatoes and veggies topped with egg we call Wisconsin Scrambled. It can be made vegetarian.

We made these blueberry mini muffins as a surprise for some guests who had an early flight. Airport baked goods simply wouldn’t do.
